well this should be helpful

I was looking for more vampire books, it might be time to look for the movies too but I digress. I found this, "How to Catch and Keep a Vampire: A Step-By-Step Guide to Loving the Bad and the Beautiful ".

How funny is that? you know the sad part is a world of twihards will try to lure Robert Pattinson with tactics learned from this book. Poor kid.

Vampire lamp

This might be one of the most amazing designs I have ever seen, this lamp runs on blood.

It was designed by Mike Thompson, can only be used once and makes you think about your energy usage.

You break it open, dissolve a tablet in it then add blood to light this sucker up. Amazing.

You may not know this about me but I am a whore for good design, I even went to art school. I'm so smitten I can hardly contain myself. i wonder if he'll make a chandelier version. Miket

more vampire diaries

The CW has ordered more scripts for the vampire diaries. I wish the CW would cut all the drugs and drinking from that show, its ridiculous, though maybe the least of the shows problems.

my review for this weeks episode, it almost hurt to watch.

i did this test to see which character you are. WTF

True Blood soda

When word got around about true blood soda i was pretty psyched. I finally got past the idea of paying $16 for a four pack of soda, true blood or not we're talking about bubbly sugar water in the end. After a quick read of the ingredients, thankfully before my purchase, i see "Carmine Coloring" for those of you that don't know this is made from bugs.

While I was going to cough up the $16 for regular soda, it's too much for bug juice.

Too bad.

p.s. my book list has exploded, i have over 25 books to read now...crisis averted

Happy Birthday Elvira!

when i was a kid i saw a cardboard cutout of Elvira for some beer company, i thought she was just the classiest lady ever.

p.s. the vampire diaries did suck pretty hard tonight...

this is bad ass!

In my search for more vampire books I came across this "The Knaveheart's Curse: A Vampire Island Book "

It's a book about a little girl who is a vegan vampire! I've been a vegan for about 7 years now so this is a book after my own heart. I'm going to the bookstore ASAP.

Charlie Huston also has vegan vampires, and writes amazing books. you should read them all right now.

X

p.s. today the wolfman and i decided on my new "vampire diaries" ritual, I will push the couch up to the TV, turn the volume up all the way, wear a cape and bat wings, pour blood on myself whenever someone does something vampy and when its over, throw the garage door open and run into the night...

i'm running out of books

I'm currently on the hunt for more vampire books, if you know of any i would love to know about them.

During my search i came upon this website. you can have your very own personalized vampire romance novel printed up and sent to your door! I'm not ready to buy a $45 softcover book yet but one of these days I'll have to because this is amazing.

Go fill out the questionnaire for a sample.

p.s. i just started a new book tonight and it starts out in the place i just moved from, $5 to the first person to guess where...

when does true blood start again?

tonight's episode of true blood was pretty great, too much of that annoying girl who plays the queen, not enough Charlaine Harris (did you see her?). honestly season 3 cant come soon enough.

i really missed Pam this season, why was she in so few episodes? why not make the whole show about her? can she live with me in the garage? or better yet, make Pam the queen and get rid of the hideously bad thing who currently plays the queen, i threatened to stab the wolfman if she didn't go away. Lucky for him she was only on for a minute.

hopefully we wont have to wait long for season 3.

X

p.s. i have 5 more vampire books to read before the next Joe Pitt book comes out, seriously i can't come soon enough.

well that was sucktacular

As expected The Vampire Diaries sucked tonight, pretty bad.

It was less like a TV show and more like a montage of all the commercials. The progression was so slow that i feel asleep several times, you know it's bad when you're sleeping during a vampire show. The real nail in the coffin (hahahaha) was changing so much of the story, oddly enough most of the changes were things that made it less like it's own entity and more like twilight. One twilight is quite enough, we can only take so much. One of the decisions was the removal of Meridith, maybe one of the best young women in "young adult fiction". If you have not read the books, Meridith is a woman who is loyal, smart, and strong pretty much everything we should be hoping girls will aspire to be. With Meridith's omission and the mellowing out of Elana we're left with another franchise aimed at young people with no strong female roles, that's just sucky for everyone.

My guess is that if something does not happen to turn this ship around it will never make it to season two. Also cant the CW make a show that does not glorify teenage drinking and drugs use?

anyone else who was disappointed by tonight's show should read the books, you'll most likely feel my sympathies for the author, her story was destroyed.

p.s. i think someone is stealing garbage in a shopping cart outside my house tonight...great.

the vampire diaries

I've read them, i like them, the show looks awful.

the CW has been advertising The Vampire Diaries for oh about a year now and we're almost there people. I have the DVR all set to record (I'll be working out when it's actually on) and am pretty excited. Why you ask? because it looks exactly like something you would see on the CW kinda trashy and an abomination to the original. All that having been said I will be watching every episode because i like vampires that much, even the goofy ones.

Today i watched an episode of cops, this girl was drunk and yelling about a radio. The cop arrested her and she tried to bite him saying she was a "polite vampire". See what i mean, I'll watch anything vampy.

X

p.s. should we place bets on how many episodes will air?

this is pretty corny

By now you've probably learned of the giant twilight corn maze in Utah. It's at Black Island Farms and is actually pretty amazing. I've been watching the local corn maze grow for a while now and it looked pretty boring but I would absolutely pony up $10 to wonder around in the twilight maze. You should all know I have a small obsession with how cheesy and silly twilight is.

When the last book came out my boyfriend and i were looking around the local book store which was under siege with all sorts of little girls dressed up crazy and acting a fool. we went to another bookstore and I decided we needed to know what the hype was all about so we bought "twilight" I confessed to the cashier guy that I was more comfortable buying porn. I read it and didn't tell the wolf man (my boyfriend) anything at all about it because i had been planning to force him to read it. He got eight chapters in before he gave it back and said he couldn't force himself to suffer through it anymore. I read the other books, laughing and crying (from laughing so hard). Well after a while all sorts of trashy twilight merchandise started popping up, my favorite is the Edward doll that can read your "ming".

So my love of all things trashy twilight leads me to the corn maze, this is exactly what i would expect from someone hoping to capitalize on twilight. Corn on good people of Utah, corn on.

This sucker opens around my birthday, maybe i could make the drive...

X

p.s. yes i saw the movie, twice and almost received a beat down.

am i the only one?

Did anyone else hate the girl who plays Sophie Ann, the queen of Louisiana on true blood? I don't think she read the books or ever took an acting class. I actually asked my boyfriend if we could fast forward past her. I usually don't like it when shows swap actors but i would rather beat my head in with a hammer than sit through anymore of her sad acting. I guess true blood was bound to hit a sour note eventually.

Last Friday we searched high and low trying to find a new guinea friend for Audrey, she tends to go insane when she's alone. finally after hours of driving and ricocheting between shelters we finally found a suitable friend.

We've been racking our brains for days but she still hasn't got a name, just call her little.

p.s. does anyone know a real vampire?

Thirst

I hope everyone remembers "let the right one in" from last year. It became known as "the good vampire movie" because it came out around the same time twilight did.
with another twilight movie looming, i would say that "thirst" is the good vampire movie of 2009. its Korean and has subtitles (i know that turns some people off), definitely look for it.
if you haven't seen "let the right one in" yet its out on DVD.

p.s. my guinea pig had a stroke followed by seizures and died before the vet opened...rip K

Every vampire lover should read this book

Last year for Christmas my brother got me "the dead travel fast" by Eric Nuzum. He told me that he just saw it in the bookstore one day and got it on a whim. I'm pretty glad he did because it might be one of the best non-fiction vampire books ever written. I started reading it at a weightlifting competition, it was so funny i caused a scene with my laughter.
If you've never read a book about where vampires come from this is a great place to start, if you know the folklore and legends read it anyway because its a hoot.

A picture so you know what you're looking for.

I can hear sirens on the freeway, hope its not another high speed chase.
